Gone Fishing...
Gone Fishing, which is owned by Aram and Sara, has recently opened adjacent to the taxi rank in Caleta de Fuste.
Gone Fishing is proving popular with both the locals and tourists, it's reputation increasing daily.
Aram and Sara have a wealth of knowledge regarding the local fishing techniques and fishing spots and Aram has many years experience of fishing around the world.
The shop is well stocked with a diverse range of tackle, from floats to complete fishing outfits.
Not only does Gone Fishing stock high quality specialised rods, reels and equipment, they also cater for the tourist and can supply a complete telescopic fishing set for around 20 euros, which will collapse and fit into your suitcase for the return journey home.
Frozen bait, such as squid and prawns, is readily available.
Aram will advise on the best times to go fishing, as regards to high and low tides, weather conditions etc, however he also displays a weekly tide table in the shop window.
We found this particularly useful as we could have an evening meal in Caleta de Fuste, check the tide table and plan when to start the next day's fishing, prior to jumping in a taxi!
Gone Fishing opens from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, re-opening at 6:00 pm and closing at 10:00 pm. Sundays the shop opens from 10:00 am until 3:00pm. The shop is closed on Wednesdays.
